The path starts at the Mana Train Station and winds its way along the coast, offering stunning views of the sea and surrounding landscape. The second half of the walk takes you along Plimmerton Beach, south of Taupo Stream. Here, you'll get to experience the soft sand beneath your feet and the refreshing sea breeze on your face.

Despite its short length, the Ngati Toa Coastal Path is packed with natural beauty and interesting features. You'll pass Ngati Toa Beach and the rocky reclaimed coastline towards Plimmerton. Keep an eye out for shags, seals, and other sea and bird life.

Along the way, you'll also encounter some interesting historical sites. One of the highlights is the historic pa site at the top of the hill, which offers stunning views of the coast and the sea. You'll also see the remains of a World War II gun emplacement, a reminder of the area's military history.

The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow, with clear signage and markers along the way. The Ngati Toa Coastal Path is a great for a short, easy walk that showcases some of New Zealand's coastal scenery and rich history.
